Helms Medical Institute announces a new intermediate-level Medical Acupuncture course, presented fully virtually in two parts:

Part I)
HMI teaching faculty have prepared video lectures on approaches to stress management in the context of medical acupuncture and with treatments using medical acupuncture. These lectures (a total of 4 hours) will be available for streaming online at your convenience over a period of four weeks (February 24 – March 24, 2023).

Part II)
On Saturday March 25, 2023, from 7:30-9am PT (10:30am-12pm ET), a live webinar will be presented featuring a panel of HMI faculty for additional case presentations and Q&A.

This course offers 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Goals & Objectives

This continuing medical education activity is designed for medical providers with at least an introductory-level background in medical acupuncture.

At the conclusion of this training program, you will have gained knowledge and understanding in the following topics:

  • The neurophysiology of human response to extraordinary stress, acute and chronic, normal and abnormal.
  • The history and evolution of our understanding of stress in Western biomedicine, including current clinical and diagnostic criteria.
  • The wide variety of clinical settings in which Medical Acupuncture can and has been used for stress mitigation.
  • The concept of Energetic Blocks, their identification, and treatment.
  • The HMI Stress Algorithm as a conceptual framework and guide to treatment design.
  • The effect of Medical Acupuncture interventions on stress, and a working familiarity with acupuncture treatments for calming, autonomic dysregulation, global energetic depletion, and “empty fire” manifestations.

Course Schedule & Video Access

Pre-recorded video lectures (four hours) will be available for four weeks: February 24 – March 24, 2023. You will hear directly from HMI staff on February 24 with video access if your registration is completed prior to this date. For registrations completed February 24 and later, please allow up to 48 hours after registration for HMI staff to provide video access to you.

The live webinar will take place via ZOOM on Saturday March 25, 2023 from 7:30-9am PT / 10:30am-12pm ET. The link for the webinar will be provided at the same time as Part 1 video access.

This virtual course is designed to allow for maximum flexibility for busy schedules. If you are unable to attend the Part 2 webinar portion live at the scheduled time, you can still enroll! A recording of the webinar will be available and accessible for six additional weeks to allow for full course completion.

 

Fees

Course tuition is $325.

Course tuition includes pre-recorded video lectures, attendance at the live webinar, CME certificate, and access to the videos & webinar recording for six weeks following the live event.

Course tuition is not refundable. If you are unable to attend the live webinar, a recording will be provided.

 

Accreditation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).  Helms Medical Institute is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  Helms Medical Institute designates this online activity for a maximum of 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

A CME certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the entirety of the course. No partial credit will be issued. No credits will be issued after the conclusion of the course.
