HMI presents the Summer 2025 intermediate-level medical acupuncture virtual course :
Medical Acupuncture in Geriatric Care
HMI is enrolling for a new VIRTUAL course – Medical Acupuncture in Geriatric Care.
This course will consider a wide variety of issues relevant to the management of geriatric patients. We will focus on problems which impair quality of life and may threaten the ability to live and function independently.
First, the key issue of falls and fall prevention will be considered with specific attention to balance, sarcopenia, and overmedication as risk factors. Next, several medical problems including fatigue, insomnia, CHF, Gyn/GU disorders and chronic pain will be considered. Psycho-emotional issues will include adjustment to life transitions and acupuncture strategies in end of life care. A thoughtful blueprint for ‘Graceful Aging’ will be offered as well.
As always, discussions of acupuncture mechanisms and physiology are supported by peer reviewed literature when possible. Clear, straightforward, and point specific treatment strategies will be presented.
Please join us for this unique and widely-applicable course!
The course will be presented in two parts:
