Medical Acupuncture in Cancer Management & Palliative Care

HMI is enrolling for a new VIRTUAL Medical Acupuncture course on the topic of Cancer Management & Palliative Care.

The course will be immediately useful and relevant to nearly all clinicians practicing Medical Acupuncture! Cancer is common and its incidence increasing. Cancer patients present to us with a wide variety of symptoms and problems amenable to integrative acupuncture inputs across many specialties and in primary care settings. The evidentiary basis for using acupuncture and specific therapeutic interventions and strategies will be discussed.

The course will be presented in two parts:

Part I: Streaming Video Lectures
HMI teaching faculty have prepared a series of video lectures on various topics related to Medical Acupuncture in Cancer Management and Palliative Care. These lectures (a total of 3.5 hours) will be available for streaming online at your convenience over a period of one month (August 21 – September 21, 2024).

Part II: Live Webinar
On Saturday September 21, 2024, from 7:30-9am PT (10:30am-12pm ET), a live webinar will be presented featuring a panel of HMI faculty for additional discussion and Q&A.

This course offers 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Course Prerequisites

This continuing medical education activity is designed for medical providers with at least an introductory-level background in medical acupuncture (i.e. 200-hours or more of prior training).

Course Schedule & Video Access

Pre-recorded video lectures (3.5 hours) will be available for one month beginning on August 21, 2024. You will hear directly from HMI staff on August 21 with video access if your registration is completed prior to this date. For registrations completed August 21 and later, please allow up to 48 hours after registration for HMI staff to provide video access to you.

The live webinar will take place via ZOOM on Saturday September 21 from 7:30-9am PT / 10:30am-12pm ET. The link for the webinar will be provided at the same time as Part 1 video access.

This virtual course is designed to allow for maximum flexibility for busy schedules. If you are unable to attend the Part 2 webinar portion live at the scheduled time, you can still enroll! A recording of the webinar will be available and all video materials will be accessible for six additional weeks (through November 3) to allow for full course completion.

Fees

Course tuition is $325.

Course tuition includes pre-recorded video lectures, attendance at the live webinar, CME certificate, and access to the videos & webinar recording for six weeks following the live event.

 

Refunds

Course tuition is not refundable. If you are unable to attend the live webinar, a recording will be provided.

 

Accreditation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).  Helms Medical Institute is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  Helms Medical Institute designates this online activity for a maximum of 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

A CME certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the entirety of the course. No partial credit will be issued. No credits will be issued after the conclusion of the course (November 3: six weeks after the live webinar portion of the course).
