The Intersection of Medical Acupuncture & Neurology

HMI is enrolling for a new VIRTUAL course on the intersection of Medical Acupuncture & Neurology.

This course will deepen your understanding of several commonly encountered neurological problems. Discussions of acupuncture physiology will reflect current peer reviewed literature. Straightforward and useful point specific management strategies will be offered. Additionally, One Needle Technique (O.N.T.) provides a practical, elegant, neuroanatomic approach to managing musculoskeletal pain, injury, and degenerative disease. Polyvagal Theory which explains and enhances the conventional concepts of autonomic nervous system function will also be discussed.

The course will be presented in two parts:

Part I: Streaming Video Lectures
HMI teaching faculty have prepared a series of video lectures on various topics related to Medical Acupuncture and Neurology. These lectures (a total of 3.5 hours) will be available for streaming online at your convenience over a period of one month (January 20 – February 22, 2025).

Part II: Live Webinar
On Saturday February 22, 2025, from 7:30-9am PT (10:30am-12pm ET), a live webinar will be presented featuring a panel of HMI faculty for additional discussion and Q&A.

This course offers 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Not able to attend the webinar live? Course enrollment is still available to you! The webinar will be recorded and full access to video lectures & webinar recording can be accessed for an additional six weeks (through April 6) for CME credit.

Course Prerequisites

This continuing medical education activity is designed for medical providers with at least an introductory-level background in medical acupuncture (i.e. 200-hours or more of prior training).

Course Schedule & Video Access

Pre-recorded video lectures (3.5 hours) will be available for one month beginning on January 20, 2025. You will hear directly from HMI staff on January 20 with video access if your registration is completed prior to this date. For registrations completed January 20 and later, please allow up to 48 hours after registration for HMI staff to provide video access to you.

The live webinar will take place via ZOOM on Saturday February 22 from 7:30-9am PT / 10:30am-12pm ET. The link for the webinar will be provided at the same time as Part 1 video access.

This virtual course is designed to allow for maximum flexibility for busy schedules. If you are unable to attend the Part 2 webinar portion live at the scheduled time, you can still enroll! A recording of the webinar will be available and all video materials will be accessible for six additional weeks (through April 6) to allow for full course completion.

Fees

Course tuition is $350.

Course tuition includes pre-recorded video lectures, attendance at the live webinar, CME certificate, and access to the videos & webinar recording.

 

Refunds

Course tuition is not refundable. If you are unable to attend the live webinar, a recording will be provided.

 

Accreditation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).  Helms Medical Institute is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  Helms Medical Institute designates this online activity for a maximum of 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

A CME certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the entirety of the course. No partial credit will be issued. No credits will be issued after the conclusion of the course (April 6: six weeks after the live webinar portion of the course).
